Introduction

 Malaria is caused by a protazoan parasite belonging to the genus Plasmodium. The parasite is carried by female mosquitos and infects humans upon the mosquito's bite. Malaria is a potentially fatal disease if not treated quickly and efficently. There are many anti-malarial drugs on the market nowadays, however the main way to stop malaria is through prevention methods.  

Symptoms of the disease include flu like symptoms, tiredness and diarrohea. As malaria is such a dangerous disease if these symptoms are present and the person has been in a malaria affected area it is presumed they have the disease until proven otherwise.  

 Malaria is one of the Worlds biggest death causes, with up to 2.7 million deaths worldwide. These deaths are mainly found in the Southern hemisphere, where the disease is prevelant,  and so the death rate being so high has to take into consideration the lack of health services that these countries have. No Mosquito

It is reported that approximatey 12 Brits die from Malaria each year. They have caught Malaria whilst being in an other country as malaria is not endemic (occuring on a constant basis) in the United Kingdom.
